INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indiana Association of Area Agencies on Aging (IAAAA) today announced that Hannah Carlock, vice president of public affairs and association management at RJL Solutions and interim chief executive officer of IAAAA through its association management partnership with RJL Solutions, has been appointed by Governor Mike Braun to serve on the state’s Guardianship Code Revision Task Force.

Governor Braun announced the appointment April 6 as part of a broader round of appointments to state boards and commissions. In March alone, the governor made 99 appointments across Indiana, with Carlock among six individuals selected to serve on the Guardianship Code Revision Task Force.

The task force was established under Senate Enrolled Act 71, passed by the Indiana General Assembly and signed into law earlier this year. It is charged with reviewing and updating Indiana’s guardianship code and making recommendations to the General Assembly.

Guardianship is established when a court determines an individual is unable to manage personal or financial affairs, making oversight and accountability essential. The task force will serve through December 2027 and is expected to begin its work during the 2026 interim.

The 11-member group includes bipartisan legislators, members of the judiciary, legal experts and stakeholder organizations, including a representative from Indiana’s Area Agencies on Aging.

“Hannah’s appointment ensures that the perspective of Indiana’s aging network is represented as the state undertakes this important review of guardianship law,” said Jenny Hamilton, president of the IAAAA Board of Directors. “Her experience in public policy and advocacy will help ensure the needs of older adults and vulnerable populations are carefully considered throughout this process.”

Carlock brings more than a decade of experience working alongside legislators and stakeholders on public policy, with a focus on Medicaid, aging and disability services and health care. Her work has spanned state and federal advocacy, where she has helped advance policies that improve access to services and quality of life for Hoosiers.

“I am honored to be appointed to the Guardianship Code Revision Task Force and to represent Indiana’s aging network in this work,” said Carlock. “This effort is an important step toward strengthening protections while ensuring individuals maintain as much independence and dignity as possible.”

Carlock currently leads public affairs and association management efforts at RJL Solutions, where she works with organizations across Indiana to advance strategic advocacy and stakeholder engagement. In her role supporting IAAAA, she helps guide the organization’s mission to strengthen services for older adults and individuals with disabilities statewide.
